Paint Your Pet!

Cashiers Highlands Humane Society and PAWS Bryson City announce our first-ever joint fundraiser to support the animals at our no-kill shelters!

CHHS PYP24 ShelterLogosNo painting skills necessary! Chances are, the less artistic you feel you may be, the more fun you will have! Just send us a head shot photo of your pampered pet when you register below and our artist partner with Be a Light Painting will have customized for you that evening a line drawing sketch of your pet on a 16” x 20” canvas ready for you to paint! Brushes, paints and aprons will all be supplied.

Join us for a fun-filled two hours of creativity and love for the four-legged members of our family! Attendance is limited, so register early!

RAFFLE PRIZES: Thanks to our generous partners, there will be some awesome prizes we will raffle during Paint Your Pet! So bring some extra bucks (raffle tickets are $10 each) to support the shelter pets and a chance to win some great prizes!

DINNER: The fun doesn’t stop at 7:00! Our animal-loving friends at Slopeside Tavern are offering a special dinner promotion for Paint Your Pet participants. In case your tummies are growling while you are creating your pet’s masterpiece, walk right next door to Slopeside Tavern after the event and present your Paint Your Pet ticket, and not only will you enjoy great food and friendly service, Slopeside will donate 25% of each dinner’s purchase price to our shelters!

Net proceeds from this event will be split 50/50 with the Cashiers-Highlands Humane Society and PAWS Bryson City, both 501(c)3 non-profit no-kill animal shelters rescuing, caring for, and finding forever homes for abandoned and neglected animals in western North Carolina.

Paint Your Pet 2024 Registration

  • All registrations must include payment and a pet photo for all registrants included below.
  • If you're registering for more than one person, please ensure a photo is uploaded for each registrant. Details about size and type of photo are included for your benefit.
  • Each online registration is limited to 5 people. If you need to register more than 5, please contact us at info@chhumanesociety.org.
  • All children must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending as guardians only will not be charged a registration fee.
  • Please note: Due to the personalized and unique sketch our artist is making for your pet, there are no refunds for this event. If you are unable to attend, your pet’s canvas sketch will be available for pick-up for 2 weeks after the event.

Please note: the person listed as the Primary Registrant must be an adult. This person will serve as contact for everyone you register, but you must provide both a phone number and an email address for each registrant. If you're registering a child, then the information in these fields should be the contact information for their parent/guardian, if they do not have their own.

TERMS & CONDITIONS: Participation in Paint Your Pet 2024 is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Incomplete submissions do not count as valid registration. Community Outreach

Bringing People & Pets Together

CHHS brings people and pets together by reaching out to local schoolchildren with Humane Education programs teaching responsible pet ownership and the importance of spay/neuter, and brightening the days and lifting the spirits of elderly citizens in our community with Pet Therapy and visitation. For more than a quarter-century, the Cashiers-Highlands Humane Society has rescued, provided compassionate care, and found forever homes for thousands of abandoned and neglected animals. Established in 1987, CHHS is a private 501(c)(3)(Federal Tax ID: 58-1798769) not-for-profit animal welfare no-kill shelter. We receive no federal, state, or county tax dollars, and no funding from any national animal organization.
